Windows Media Player Closed Captions
There are some minor variations in the way Closed Captions are activated in various releases of Windows Media Player.

The required settings are all made from the top menu bar.
Windows Media Player 10 and 11
To enable captions in Windows Media Player 10 and 11 :
- Play | Lyrics Captions and Subtitles | Closed Caption
- Play | Lyrics Captions and Subtitles | English
- Tools | Option | Security | Show local caption when present as below.
Windows Media Player 9
To enable captions in the Windows Media Player 9:
- Play | Captions and Subtitles | On if available
Windows Media Player 7 & 8
To enable captions in the Windows Media Player 7 and 8:
- View | Now Playing Tools | Captions
- View | Now Playing Tools | Show Equalizer and settings
